OESOL INTERNATIONAL TYPOGRAPHY AWARDS

GRANSHAN proudly promotes the first Korean Typography Competition

Unleash the Power of letters:
Embrace the global
typography challenge!

GRANSHAN is proud to be a partner of the first Oesol International Typography Competition, celebrating international typographic design in the vibrant city of Ulsan, South Korea.

Oesol and GRANSHAN are a perfect match as they both believe that type drives culture – and vice versa. Both competitions are searching for the brightest minds and artistic visionaries to showcase their mastery of letterforms and push the boundaries of typographic expression.

The Oesol International Typography Competition is divided into two categories: one in which the Design composition must include visual elements in Korean and one category for typography works on any topic, regardless of language and country. Overall the competition aims to recognize creative and high-level works that showcase original inspiration, creativity and craftmanship, regardless of genre– be it classic, digital or innovative implementation.

Winners will be chosen through a prestigious panel of 18 esteemed jury members from 8 different countries. Deserving participants are awarded with cash prizes in the amount of US$ 25,000, among them the US$ 500 GRANSHAN Award.

The selected works will be showcased in a special exhibition at the Ulsan Arts Center as part of the Oesol Hangeul Hanmadang festival in Ulsan this October. Furthermore, the festival will host a diverse and insightful international conference on lettering, images and Hangeul design, featuring esteemed speakers from international and domestic backgrounds on October 7. The exhibition will take place October 3 through 9 2023.

Entries can be transmitted until August 30 via the online submission form How to Enter, the registration is free. You will find further information about the Oesol International Tyopography Design Competition with this Link to their homepage.
